AFX Fusion Systems

A robotic bead fusion system that has been scaled to meet the varying production demands of XRF laboratories.

The AFX4 system is based on the hugely successful 12 furnace fusion systems that, to date, have mass-produced millions of fused beads. This compact 4 furnace system better suits the requirements of the typical production laboratory.

It contains the same reliable components and the same proven methodology as the original high capacity systems that revolutionised large scale bead fusion preparation techniques. This technology is now accessible to a wider range of end users.

It is technology that distinctly surpasses any previous methodology and apparatus currently used in XRF laboratories around the world. It provides an efficient alternative from the low volume, manually demanding, batch processing methods currently adopted.

The AFX4 cell allows for manually filled crucibles to be introduced via a conveyor. The ADFX4 cell has the added benefit of automating the sample and flux dosing stage.

Linear Automation Systems

Essa’s linear automation systems link high capacity sample preparation equipment with proven mechanical sampling devices using reliable sample transfer mechanisms.

Simply load your dried field sample into a crusher and collect the assay portion and pulp residue at the other end.

Linear automation systems offer many of the benefits associated with more flexible robot-based automation cells but at a fraction of the cost.

Greater consistency, improved traceability, better hazard management and insulation from labour availability and cost fluctuations are benefits from automating sample preparation processes.

These systems are specifically designed for medium throughput mineral laboratory sample preparation requirements. They are ideal for processing mineral ores such as gold, nickel and iron ore.

They are well suited for use at remote mining and exploration sites and do not require skilled labour to operate.

Tungsten Carbide Pulverising Mill Bowl

Tungsten carbide is the grinding head of choice for many laboratories where elemental contamination is limited to just two principal contaminants: tungsten and cobalt.

With the Essa 125cc grinding head all surfaces in contact with the sample (bowl, ring, roller and lid) are machined from tungsten carbide. The bowl chamber and inner lid layer are encased in stainless steel to increase overall strength and to reduce material cost.

The bowl and lid incorporate ergonomically-designed lifting flanges to enable easier handling when processing samples.

Chemical Composition:
Cobalt (Co): 6.0% by weight
